Zurich employees lend a hand in the garden!
Staff from Zurich Insurance Company donated manpower and products to transform the garden at the home shared by three of Cosgrove’s service users. The garden was in need of a facelift and Zurich rose to the challenge. On the 15th September a team of 8 volunteers from Zurich put in some hard graft to improve the garden for the service users.
The volunteers made the garden much more wheelchair friendly by enlarging a slabbed area, ensuring that service users had much more freedom around the garden.
They put in two raised beds so that service users can try their hand at growing their own veg. They also put in a beautiful water feature and donated a new Barbecue.
Karen McCluskey, Service Manager was delighted with the outcome:
‘Zurich have been extremely generous and we are very grateful for the fantastic work they have done in the garden which will be a huge benefit to our service users. The service users can now fully appreciate the garden and will be able to spend more time outside. The garden was in long need of a make over but we did not previously have the funds to do the work, it is wonderful to get this support from Zurich and it was great to see so many volunteers take part in making it happen.’
Zurich staff at their Glasgow office also managed to raise an additional £423 for Cosgrove. We are delighted with the support we have received from Zurich which will make a positive difference to the lives of our service users.
