JMind

JMind provides support to adults aged 18-65 years who have a mental health problem, and will also provide support to the carers and families of these individuals if required.  The service aims to prevent mental ill-health by supporting people who suffer from mild to moderately severe problems.  The aim is to reduce the number of people requiring referral to secondary or tertiary care.  Jmind also supports people with severe and enduring mental illness as part of their support package in partnership with community mental health teams, social work and other voluntary agencies.

Services/Activities provided by the service:

The service provided to individuals is both professional and confidential.  Support can be on an individual or group basis, depending on the needs of the person.  Some examples of support provided are:  stress/anxiety management, counselling, taking therapy, information service, signposting, reducing social isolation, confidence boosting and art and music groups.

How to access the Service:

The service operates on an open referral system which means that referrals will be considered from both statutory (eg Health Teams/Social Work Teams) and voluntary agencies.  We will also consider referrals from families, carers or self referrals.  Where a third party has made the referral, the person to be supported must be aware of and agreeable to the referral.  All referrals are treated in confidence.
