Description of Service

The property is registered to accommodate 14 service users; 13 in supported living and 1 in respite.  Supported living services are offered to 13 adults living in a registered establishment.  The service provided is regulated by the care Commission and receives regular inspections to promote consistency of practice and improved services.  There are 3 flats each offering accommodation to 4 service users.  Each service user has his/her own bedroom and shares the common areas with the other 3 tenants in their flat.  Each flat has its own dedicated staff team to ensure the best possible service is provided.  The single occupancy flat is self contained and does not share common areas.  There is 1 respite flat that is self contained and does not share common areas.

Services/Activities provided by the service

Although Cosgrove Care was initially a provision for Jewish service users, it now supports a percentage of people from outwith this culture.  Cosgrove supports service users to live their own lives in their own or shared flats.  Members of staff will support the individuals to sustain their own tenancies, run their own lives and live according to their wishes.

All service users are given the opportunity to fulfil the statement and live as ‘normal’ a life as possible.  They are given the same opportunity as anyone to access all amenities in their community.  Staff continually promote equality and opportunity on their behalf to ensure they are respected as individuals and are encouraged to take an active part in decisions affecting their lives.

How to access the Service:

This is usually by referrals through local authority or housing association but referrals can be made through other channels.
