Adult Augmented Services

Description of Service:

Support services are all those services which currently come under the heading ‘day care’.  Day care services can be provided in a number of settings, by staff or volunteers.  Cosgrove’s support services can help a wide range of people, from those who need support with very complicated needs, to people who need time-limited support at different points in their lives.  The main goal of support services is to allow people to plan and achieve their preferred lifestyle.

Services/Activities provided

The service provides a wide range of activities on a weekly basis – this includes:

  • Home support
  • Education and training
  • Leisure and arts
  • Supported employment
  • Volunteer befriending
  • Respite opportunities
  • Information, advice and consultancy

How to access the Service:

The service operates an open referral system which means that referrals will be considered from both statutory (eg Health Teams/Social Work Teams) and voluntary agencies.  We will also consider referrals from families, carers or self referrals.  Where a third party has made the referral, the person to be supported must be aware of and agreeable to the referral.  All referrals are treated in confidence.
